ASSOCIATION

The aim of the Heidelberger Kunstverein is to promote the understanding of aesthetic and social issues through the exhibition of contemporary art. With exhibitions by national and international artists it conveys current developments away from the traditional centres of contemporary art. Founded in 1869, the institution is currently supported by over 1000 members. The activities of the Heidelberger Kunstverein are financially supported by the city of Heidelberg and the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Your support is indispensable for the realisation of its programme.

SPACES

In a large bright hall in the middle of Heidelberg's old town, the Heidelberger Kunstverein presents contemporary art on three floors. The building, by architect Dieter Quast, opened its doors in 1990 and was awarded a plaque by the Association of German Architects. The Kunstverein is located in an idyllic courtyard together with the Kurpfälzischen Museum at Hauptraße 97.
